During the summer of 2016, I had the privilege to intern at RLH Studio in Minneapolis, MN. I was given many hands-on learning experiences that gave me a glimpse into the professional world of interior design. I had the privilege to learn and work with both the residential and commercial design team. I learned how to create a rendered perspective in Photoshop, attended client meetings on-site and off-site, attended project proposal meetings, as well as working daily on CAD documents and/or SketchUp. I was exposed to many new materials and finishes and created new relationships with sales representatives to connect with in the future. I was also able to strengthen my communication and collaboration skills by getting involved with many unique opportunities with the designers and I will carry those strengthened skills into future projects as I nearly graduate and enter the professional world of interior design.
